To be an American, means that you permanently live in the United States of America. For example, if you were born in Mexico and move to the United States, permanently, you deserve the right to call yourself an American, same of course, if you were born here in the United States. I believe that "the American life" is being able to live as an American who has rights and can live "free", although, not being above the law. I think that a lot of people view the American life of being free and wild, because of what they see in the media, and because there are some places in the world where people are unable to live the American life. To add on to what "the American life" is, I believe it also consist of democracy and having the country being run by its people. Also, consist of being able to live how you want, if you are an adult, without someone or something telling you what to what you can or cannot do, even though what you do can have consequences. Being an American also means to stand up for what you believe, and being one community. To be an American is to be whatever and whoever you want despite the color of your skin, sexual preference, and gender. It also means to love your country, to work for what you want and have moral vales. Americans have the characteristics of bravery, hard work, integrity, honesty, and respect.

The main point of this illustration is to demonstrate the idea of perception. To prove this point, in the drawing, it shows a man facing a particular object, and of what the brain and the eyes see. To explain further, the brain may see a piece of broccoli, or an explosion from a bomb, which is true because the idea of thinking proves its existence, an irrefutable truth. Although the eyes may follow authority and tradition and see a tree, which is debatable. This image also relates to irrefutable truths, because of the minds multiple interpretations and the unlimited thinking of what the object may be. Existentialism according to Descartes is that thinking proves your existence, if you think, you exist. It relates to perceiving vs perception because perceiving is the truth, as where you think it is the truth knowing it exist, and perception is debatable because you don't know that it is the truth.
In this abstraction picture, the universal theme is power. This expresses power because the dark red diamond in the middle is the center of the page, and according to the abstraction latter it represents king john the 13th and his reign of france. Under his power, destruction, war, and revoluion happened because of him and this is represents the red and warm colors. The blue eyes represent the king's cold eyes staring at his destructional reign.
After reading further into the multiple ideas of what the mind and senses prove from the Descartes reading, I was able to further understand his words. The quote, "I think therefore I am." written by Rene Descartes, is a phsicological idea he came up to prove his existence. To explain, Descartes questioned his existance, having doubt in himself and of others, if they are only part of a dream. From his readings and explanations, I can infer that the quote means, that if he thinks, he can prove his existance. To illustrate this point futrther, if you are part of a dream you wouldn't have conrtol of yourself, but since he is thinking and has free will, he can prove his existance and that he is real.
Many children throughout the world see education in many different ways. Some students enjoy facing challenges, while other instead try to shift away and avoid them. There is a theory that shows two different ways on how children think called MINDSET, consisting of two groups, growth, and fixed mindset. The growth and fixed mindset can be looked through multiple perspectives, and how people or children see the topic. Contribution is also very important to know how much of an importance this topic is and how it can impact someone’s life. Growth mindset helps children to grow their abilities through hard work and good strategies , meanwhile, fixed mindset discourages children and they think that they have inherited traits that can’t be improved. Children and adults view the growth mindset with multiple perspectives. An example of multiple perspectives, as stated in the article, Watch What’s Working: Carol Dweck Talks Growth Mindset, it states,” Your intelligence is something that can and will develop, with effort, good strategies, and support from the school.” This shows that children work hard towards success and they put in all their effort towards their education, this is how the child views education. Also, many studies have showed that children and parents view fixed mindset in many perspectives or views. An example of multiple perspectives, according to the text in Recognizing and overcoming False Growth Mindset, it states,”It stands in opposite to a fixed mindset, which is the belief that talents and abilities are unalterable traits, ones that can never be improved.” This proves that children don’t want to show that they are dumb, so this affects the child's continuation of intelligence and their ways of learning from their mistakes, that’s how the views their education, they fear of being dumb and the children with the growth mindset view their education with perseverance and are ready to face challenges. The different perspective of Mindset, is what makes it challenging or simple, in the eyes of children.
The topic of MINDSET, can be used to correlate with contribution. To find the significant value in it and how Mindset can impact the students. Carol Dweck has done studies on many children on how something can impact a child, as reported in the article Stanford University’s Carol Dweck on the Growth Mindset and Education ,”We’ve done a long series of studies now with all ages of kids and we’ve seen that praising intelligence backfires. It puts them in a fixed mindset and not want challenges. They don’t want to risk looking stupid or risk making mistakes.” This quote about how parents praise their child’s intelligence, shows an example of contribution, because it shows how the child was impacted after the parent praised its intelligence instead of it’s hard work and effort. Another example of Contribution in Mindset, is that the topic made changes occur, it made children think twice about giving up, as referenced by a line in Batman Begins, “Why do we fall, Bruce? So we can learn to pick ourselves up.” This quote proves that one must fight and grow stronger to pick themselves up, they can't just expect themselves to get up quick without struggle. That connects with a growth mindset, they continue to go and grow, and they may face setback but they persevere and continue to fight, similar to batman. But with the fixed mindset in mind, you wouldn’t get anywhere, you wouldn’t be able to overcome the challenges and struggles that allow you to stand up. The concept of mindset really impacted many people, children and adults, and their point of view about education and intelligence. Mindset is a really significant topic, because you don not want to end up stuck and unable to move on, fearing the face of failure, you want to lead your future in the direction you want, not somewhere else where you gave up because you were to overwhelmed.
In this visual representation, a brain is seen to have arms that are lifting weights, while one is working hard, the other hand let go of the weight . This drawing represents MINDSET because the pink and healthy part of the brain represents the growth mindset, because it is lifting the big weights and is working hard to build more muscle, just like how students study and face challenges to get their brain to become stronger. While the green part of the brain represents the fixed mindset, while trying its best, it failed to continue the hard task and gave up just like how people with fixed mindsets try to hide away from challenges and want to give up, and can't continue, they let the weight of the hard task go.
